About Cloudsley Cellars

Cloudsley Cellars is solely dedicated to creating Pinot Noir from Niagara, Ontario. The cool climate and limestone soils found in this region create an environment ideally suited to making a classic, elegant wine that brings out the best in this noble varietal.

It’s a deeply personal project, unmotivated by consumer trends, yet informed by nearly 20 years spent tasting wines – some of the best in the world – as a wine professional. It is inspired by my love of Burgundy, but squarely focused on this stretch of land that intrigues and beguiles me.

Cloudsley Cellars is, and will always remain, a boutique operation with a transparent and minimalist approach to achieve the singular goal of producing the finest representation of cool climate Pinot Noir.

Our Wine

The 2013 Pinot Noir is the inaugural release from Cloudsley Cellars. It is made up of grapes sourced from vineyards throughout the Niagara peninsula, including small lots from the Four Mile Creek, Niagara River and Twenty Mile Bench sub-appellations. You’ll find it offers all the attributes one expects from quality cool-climate Pinot Noir: well-delineated red and dark fruit on the nose and palate, a sense of minerality, and the necessary tension that comes from a fine balance between fruit and acidity.
